St Ives Harbour - 1959

A photograph scanned from a negative recently acquired as part of a larger collection. The location is thought to be St Ives but I should like confirmation. The negative is one of about 30 that were in a cigarette tin marked Cornwall, the tin in turn was in a larger tin marked 1958/9. I wonder if anyone can identify the young lad in white shorts and Dunlops , aged about 10/12 he would now be about 60!
Remarkable picture - Smeaton s Tower in full view - St Ives, it is. Looks like SS44 and SS45 centre harbour - I will check in the Registers.

Great news that I ve identified St Ives correctly, think there are others from this location, will need to scan some more!

Looking at a larger file it would seem to be SS64 (or 84) and SS45 centre, with SS41 just in front of SS64. Also have another photo already scanned of SS17.

I think SS45 is named Shannon and apparently still exists, or did in 2005 according to a listing I ve found on the internet!

I have the complete MAAF lists for 1998 to 2006, as well - easy enough to check.

However, I have not yet photographed the FV registers for St Ives; all the ships, but not fishing vessels; another project on hold; now it costs a lot for digital recording, I have to think twice. Next year perhaps.
