St Raffidy/Raphael's Cross, St Mary's Churchyard

This very old mutilated cross may well have been situated near St Anthony's Gardens where there was once a small and ancient chapel, I understand. There are slightly conflicting theories as to its origin and name. This side seems to show the Madonna and child.
Is it mutilated or just worn by age?? How do we know it was originally near St Anrhony s Garden
As to Madonna and child - references please?? Also, you say On this side - what is on the other side??

It is mutilated - by having been re-used in other construction - I have written of this stone elsewhere on Picture Penzance, in fair detail, there are other pictures on here as well to illustrate the stone. I refer to contemporary writings. I have also written of the St Anthony Chapel on Picture Penzance.
