This little place started off life as Travellers Fare buffet and bar way back in the mid 1980's. It was a bid by (what was then) British Rail to bring in private sector business and generate better income for stations. The old buffet was to be redesigned to house the new ticket office.
After Travellers Fare gave up the lease Lavenders (a local pasty and bakery) purchased the lease. Now as you can see it is known as Steamers. The owner id due to retire next year so I wonder if it will be on the market soon.
