The Archway, Penlee - 3

James Runnalls had a crushing mill at Tolcarne, Newlyn, powered by a 20 ft. by 9 ft. water wheel, and he shipped great quantities of the crushed stone to ports in Wales. The other quarries closed in the late 1880's, and were replaced by the present Penlee quarry in Newlyn. From 1922, Arnold Snell operated the quarry.
