The first House of the Bolithos in the Penzance area.
The grounds were much the same when my father worked there as gardener in later years;
I remember the long lawn which he diamond cut (with a hand pushed mower).

The Coombe, Chyandour
The Bolitho Family were of Helston in 1600, variously at Wendron, Gluvias and Penryn;
they first appeared in the Penzance area with Thomas Bolitho of The Coombe in around 1766.
Thomas Bolitho was born 1740 at Wendron; married to Catherine Johns 13th June 1765 at Helston.
6 children - Elizabeth 1767, Catherine 1769, Mary 1770, Lydia 1771,
William Bolitho (a) of Ponsandane and Thomas Bolitho (b) of The Coombe.
