Following on from the picture taken 31st October 2008, Saxton Drilling is back for a second session, which is not at all unusual, and in fact is very often required to form a larger mass. That was the consolidation technique which I applied to historic monuments. I worked with Dr John Hignett - he was used to working on projects for the US ports and for NASA as well as international airports, but had never been asked to provide structural calculations or specifications - he is considered the world expert in both soil consolidation and in mundic related science. Yet when he was involved in projects here, the authorities required calculations and specifications. It befell me to do those calculations and specifications for soil consolidation and rock counterforts, which I wrote with his cooperation, educational and fun. 28th January 2009.
