The bridge is now enclosed in a scaffolded 'shed', and will be covered to allow work to continue, as precast lightweight concrete slabs are laid. The steel will be protective coated and paint finished prior to any further work, and then finished after that work. As any good decorator knows, water, dust, salt and paint do not mix very well; and many paints that I have specified over the years advise that it is applied out of direct sunlight. 1st February 2009.
