The Custom House, Hayle

A new building was erected in 1862 by The Cornish Copper Company to house the new customs offices; it remained thus only until 1889.
The warrant for handling customs was originally held in St Ives and after much heated argument it was transferred to Hayle.
5th April 2009; the rear of the building showing that the side extensions were built at near the same period, but perhaps no later than 1870.
