The Girls Together

Photo Shoot at Strawberry Leisure
Very impressive! If you have a mo, s55, I'd be interested to hear where they came from, was much restoration needed, etc - that sort of stuff. I do like the design of these old ones - and they do look immaculate. Do they belong to you?

Hi tt13, they belong to a friend of mine, I first drove one for him two years ago, then did several weddings for and with him last year, this year we had the third one and now HH does some driving as well, I have already done the last 11 Saturdays.
Lily the first one is a Samba and came from South Dekota, completley refurbished at Perranporth, the only change to the original is that it has all seating, no bed or kitchen she is a 1964 model and with roof windows, split and opening front windows, and a working 'rag top' is very rare.
The red one Lulu, is a 1965 fixed split screen, imported from Texas, was used as a bus for employes of an airline company, for the last 15-20years was left in a shed, this was also fully refurbished at Perranporth, but has a working kitchen and bed.
The last one Lola was imported from California and is a 1964 model, with opening split screen windows and working rag top, just seating, was also refurbished at Perranuthanoe.
All vehicals have been completley stripped and rebuilt and sprayed, they are all left hand drive.
These are very much a head turner and very popular, by the end of October early November they will have done about 85 to 90 weddings between them. for more info you can read about them and see them in action with a couple of videos at www.strawberryleisure.co.uk.
Bob and I also appeared briefly with Lola and Lulu in Ch 4's four in a bed.
