The old Pearl building

Knocked to bits to accommodate Whetherspoons, and the building wasn't that old any how. Chirgwins stood in its place before this.
come friendly bombs .... but who needs them when the local authrorities allow such monstrosities to cause devastation to our Georgian Town?

Dorothy Perkins building-Nr 9, Market Place; Built 1823 for Broad the Draper, with finely detailed columns on the lower floor; The windows extended out to the pavement - though not attached to the columns; Taken over by H and F Mitchell, also a Draper; became Boots and then, when the beautiful Timothy Whites building was demolished, it became Timothy Whites, and Boots opened a new building further down in Market Jew Street. The site used to be an old inn.
