The pleasant lounge of the King's Arms, Paul

In September, 1936, His Serene Highness, the Russian Prince Felix Youssoupoff stayed here. He was the principal assassin in 1916 of the mad monk, Rasputin! He and Princess Irina and her brother had been touring and had been asked to pick up a friend's dog from the King's Arms. They came for lunch and stayed a week, phoning Windsor Castle and Paris every night!
