Vehicle runs out of juice, ends up on Battery Rocks?
How long has this been here? Plated suspension has been 'out of fashion' for some time, I imagine? How on earth did it get here? Any ideas of what type of vehicle?
I thought prams had a bar suspension with a spring at either end.... That is if we are talking sprung prams..... Did we ever have bathers carts on Sandy shore.... Is this a piece of the suspension of an old bathing cart. It looks too small for a car leaf suspension. and it would be difficult to get car parts anywhere around Battery Rock s
That chunk of metal is a block of plates about two inches thick I suppose. I think it has been here before the pool was built, unless someone was really determined to divest themselves of the chassis overnight. There are other chunks here in another pool.
But they obviously have survived many years in the water hence the barnacles. The shape and size would offer little resistance to the moving water of a storm when you consider that the water would be very much deeper and the current broken by the rocks.... Also the rack seems to be pinned down by the rock
Very likely, maybe the storms brought them in; the encrustation on the rock (which also is not native to the pools) and the metal is about the same. Could they be off an early railway carriage?
