Fascinating piece of whimsey, in the trail of a local authority determining that this 100 year old Monterey Cypress was dying; not wishing to deal with future claims as to its shedding of branches, it was decided to cut back and to present a scupltural 'Green Man'. The world is full of Monterey Cypresses that survive well over 250 years. Out of interest it would be well to know that name of the artist (?any information, please) who has created the spirit of what appears to be the North American Indian's living being, with the bemused looking representation of a character, that is almost Thomas Malory in essence, The Green Man. I can see the point but it cannot support the wildlife that lived here before. Nice set of pictures !!
