is this part of a boat?(please excuse if its not!) and where is this taken?
 
The sharp end (bow or stem view) of the ship, more detail to follow of this remarkable ship. At last, I have found the pictures, and will be able to upload more fom Newcastle on Tyne, in the Museum .. at the time she was fastest in the world.

Charles Parsons developed his own designs for the
steam turbine and built Turbinia, after experimenting
with various propellor designs and ship models.
She was taken to Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee Review
in 1897 off Portsmouth. She made 34 knots, with three
sets of propellors and shaft.
Turbinia - steel hull, 44 tons displacement.
103 ft 4 ins x 9 ft x 3 ft
Turbinia Works - Brown & Hood; 2100 hp
Last voyage 1907; she has been in the museum since 1960.
