Union Terrace
This is Union Terrace in the 1960's... You wont find Union Terrace in Penzance any more because it was pulled down to make way fro the brand new St Clares flats. This particular picture was taken opposite West Cornwall Hospital. Courtesy of Mrs Rose Hichens (St Clare dairy shop)

Union Terrace was demolished and Pendarves Flats were built. St Clare flats are farther down St Clare Street

I have a pictre of Union Tce in my Old Penzance Scenes gallery which I think was probablytaken in 1930s or perhaps earlier. Does not look much changed in the intervening years. Here s a link, if it (...)

In fact, a search for Union Terrace or Pendarves Row returns interesting information about this area pre-dating my memory as well as a very touching picture from treeve. Ialso recall some interesting post about shops in St Clare Street .
