1951 My sister and I, Papa's private plane .. ha ha!! Off to the Isles of Scilly, land of my mother's; there was a special bus to St Just Airport, which left from Penzance Railway Station. The De Havilland Rapide, reliable aircraft, though it had a worrying habit of dropping in air pockets , with inner organs left about six feet above the cabin.
