This snap was taken on the previous Monday (15th December 2008) a week before it closed. Things weren't right and so I decided to get a snap whilst I could. They will be sadly missed like all the other victims of this financial madness we've found ourselves in.
This Building was put up around 1924, as the outlet for the Penzance Electricity Company. It is a form of Art Deco. The glazed facing work has been replaced from the original Vitrolite, but the bronze work and glass remains; I am sad to see this place close, as they were pleasant people and gave good fare.
Started my apprenticeship there in 1960, workshops out the back, opwat by the fish shop, Causewayhead two way traffic, I think so was Clarence Street, also the bottom of town..........................
