Welding relationships

As a result of an international trade initiative, the British Welders Association is working in cooperation with the Japanese Ikebana Society; this welder is wearing the latest protective headgear of the combined workforce. Penzance Dry Dock 10th November 2008.
Yea, flower power, I won t post a comment in case he reads it, mind you I ll wind him up in the dock!! laugh#

Is he wearing a head mask thing covered in flowers?.... these are very popular at the moment....

That is where HSE goes daft - how can anyone wear the hard hat AND use the welding visor?

Your right Treeve, with some of the protective gear for eyes etc. you cannot wear a hard hat, but if they walk thro the yard like that they are likely to loose a days pay for not wearing a hard hat!! crazy.

When the HSE took off, I was working with a large ongoing contract - I took the officer around with me, and then got him to sit down and I asked him to sign a waiver that HSE office would pay for lost time and lost costs, as well as paying for the increased contract cost. We could play with them then, but now they are paper-pushers and box-tickers, no possibilty of a connected thought pattern or considered rational discussion; say hello , and they are stuck for an answer.

That is just it .. you and I come from an era where everyone (most anyway) had common sense, and we did not need some amoeba brained paper-pusher to tell us what to do or how to do it. All of this is destroying our national ability to think and reason, except for the bolshy types (like myself, I know). Long Live the Revolution !!! Venceremos !!!!! duh ::6: ;)

I enjoyed this picture, Treeve! ¡Además, que bueno que es tu castellano! See if you can overcome this one! laugh#
