What a pane.

A major operation to replace a pane of glass at Newlyn Art Gallery that had been damaged, probably by vandals. 20/8/09
Not necessarily - it is known by architects in this area that pebbles and sticks (or seaweed to which stones are attached by the fact that they are enclosed in the grapple foot of the weed) are carried by the larger birds, and anyone with any sense designs buildings on the shoreline front to take that into account. The stones are also carried by the waves and wind. I do not know what specification was used for this glazing, but common sense dictates it be anti-bandit glass category. After two incidents reported many years ago, from clients to the firm I was with, we changed glazing policy to take all of that into account.

I think I can rule out wind and waves although a stone carrying seagull is a terrifying image duh I think with all the kids and young boozed up people who like to congregate around here that it was probably a human who caused the damage. Just in case though I will in future wear a crash helmet to avoid being brained by a bird. ::1:

They carry them as tokens to proffer to their mate, and to build nests. Dropped from sufficient height by accident, it can gain velocity and the impact quite damaging - don t forget the crash helmet.
