A grey start to the day. Newlyn Seamens' Mission volunteers direct traffic and collect the cash while a few people are starting to walk from Penzance towards the festival.
Cars start arriving at Newlyn Green to pay two quid to park. Vans get bogged down in the waterlogged soil and churn the grass into mud. August has not been very dry!
Townsfolk 'thread the needle' to the Golowan Band's music at the top of Chapel Street near the Union Hotel (out of the picture to the right) and the Egyptian House (left)
