Can anyone tell me what this breed of fish is?! After storms at about this time of year these creatures wash up on Newlyn beach and start to smell. My dog loves them, unfortunately. However, seagulls don't seem so interested (although I did see a black backed gull having a go at one today!)
Landing Fish at Newlyn - I thought this was a postcard because it clearly has that title on the front - but nothing on the back apart from Prior to 1880
A grey start to the day. Newlyn Seamens' Mission volunteers direct traffic and collect the cash while a few people are starting to walk from Penzance towards the festival.
Cars start arriving at Newlyn Green to pay two quid to park. Vans get bogged down in the waterlogged soil and churn the grass into mud. August has not been very dry!
