Cornwall wedding outfitters facing liquidation

A wedding outfitters in Cornwall has called in insolvency experts and is warning customers they could lose cash deposits.
Pronuptia Cornwall, in Truro, has hired and sold formal outfits for 25 years.
The company said it was expected to go into liquidation at the end of October and five staff were losing their jobs.

It said it could not refund deposits taken, but was telling customers they might be able to recover money if they had paid with credit cards.
Shareholder meetings The shop has called in insolvency practitioners Bishop Fleming after making losses for successive years.
It said cut price formal clothes sold by supermarkets had hit its business.
It added that it was selling off stock but not taking future orders.
Meetings of shareholders and creditors are scheduled for 28 October, when liquidators were expected to be appointed, mangers said.
Customers who had paid by credit card may be able to claim money back from their card provider under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
Under the legislation, customers can get refunds from credit card providers for goods or services which are faulty or paid for but not provided, priced between £100 and £30,000.
