People in a Cornish town have written a book about their community featuring stories and memories from the past.
The Hayle Oral history project has collected the stories and old photographs from 100 people in the Cornish Port.
School children and university students have taken part, helping to make animated films of some of the stories.
Churks, Clidgy & Doodle-Dashers - Hayle Tales and Trails is the result of months of hard work.

The book and DVD capture memories from the past

It's not only a book full of fascinating stories, but many have made it on to film, with the DVD that comes with the publication.
Memories of Hayle's Regatta is one of the many stories featured.
One of the many delights is the collection of pictures. Many have never been seen outside of local families.
See a selection of the pictures, and find out the meaning behind the book's interesting title, by clicking on the film at the top of this page.
Thanks to the Heritage Lottery and other funders, everyone who has taken part has received a free copy of the book and DVD.
