A primary school in Cornwall has bought a double decker bus to be converted into two new classrooms.
Parc Eglos School near Helston bought the £3,500 bus to save money and increase teaching space.
This bus will be converted into a two-tier classroom, with the top deck becoming a culinary classroom and the bottom deck a science lab.
Head teacher Brett Dye said:
"It's good to inspire the children, be imaginative and very resourceful."
He said:
"It's a lot cheaper to have a bus, and I just thought it would be a wonderful thing for the school."
The bus was driven down to Helston from Lancashire.
'Limited resources' MP for St Ives, Andrew George, said:
"What we're looking for is these kind of creative solutions.
"There will always be limited resources in public services anyway, and so schools like Park Eglos coming forward with creative ideas like this is something we all need to be looking at."
Bobbie, one of the school's pupils said:

The pupils will also be involved in designing the bus' interior.

Under todays stiff regulations with safeguarding children and health and safety, the risk assessments will make for an interesting read.

Yes that was my thought. I guess that is a lot that would need to be assessed. I think the idea is good but wonder about the fire risk, Fire exits and noise pollution between the two classes.
