WOMEN in Penzance are urged to be vigilant following a sex attack in the town.
Police have released this e-fit of a man wanted in connection with a sexual assault on a young woman.
She was attacked on Sunday, January 16, at about 4.20am on Manor Way, near the cemetery as she was returning home from a night out in Penzance.
DC Joanna Clarke said the man is believed to be local to the area. She said: “We have received a couple of calls from last week’s appeal in the Cornishman which we are still following up.
“But people need to more vigilant and should not be walking home alone. Make sure you get a taxi home.”
The offender is described as white, between 50 and 60 and of athletic build. He had short grey hair with a grey, stubbly beard. Police say the victim was on her own and screamed when the offence took place.
Anyone with information should contact DC Clarke at Penzance police station on 0845 2777444, quoting crime reference AP/11/223.

We always said to our girls when they went out "it doesn't matter what time it is or what it costs to get home, if you are on your own get a taxi'. Thankfully they heeded what we said, and it was never a problem.
