This picture shows the construction of Tesco. You can still see Bruno's bar and by this time it was a night club. I think this picture was taken in 1998 Supplied by Di and Den
Hmm - motorbikes; the rider stands more chance of a safe ride, because of being able to thread in and out; the other thing is that because they wear headgear and protective/support clothing they are more likely to survive some accidents. Worst case though is in thrown accidents.
It s the best road experience you can have... and I ll bet the motorcyclist are the few that use their motors for pleasure (like the old days a Sunday drive/ride) rather then necessity
First licence I had was motorbike, I have had a love of them ever since. I was lucky, I saw the birth of a lot of m bikes. It was a part of the 60 s and onwards, change happened so fast. But I never lost my love of going out on the bike. Unless someone has really experianced it the thrill is something I couldn t compare. Well, not here!!!
Good point, didn t it run from the bridge behind What was K and R to the main road by Tescoes? it was in use up to when Tesco and K and R was built. I remember when Devon Transformers Was where K and R is people used it.
I used it last summer, it still runs along the brook, from the bridge all the way along. I took some pictures at the time. I think it is disgusting just how our landscape, and rivers are being carved up and destroyed to suit a greedy thoughtless uncaring multinational giant.
This used to be a walk my mum used to take us on to show us nature and tire us out! I remember the bamboo lined path twisting and turning past the river and the bridge where I had to look out for the troll. Then I walked my dog along here many times. It was a lovely walk but spoilt now Tesco, etc. is there (walked it earlier this year) but still worth keeping! And as far as the roundabout goes, think of the accidents we ll get when the big cat comes to use its litter tray!
The whole of Eastern Green has now been spoilt and changed beyond recognition! What a shame that a huge multi national was ever granted planning permission, in this area in the first place!
