My late father took most of this series to record buildings that were being pulled down, altered, or changing use or ownership. I'm not sure why this particular one was taken.
It is just as well that he did such an act, very much appreciated; for that matter the little cottages were destroyed by Whitlocks. There are a few other smaller changes I think, but the c1900 granite fronts still exist. It is my considered opinion that the one which includes the recently closed second hand book store was by Oliver Caldwell. The name is in the details.
