Not all picture postcards were bought; there was a vogue to print your own , a lot of households had a tall box, cenotaph shape, into which the negative was placed, and a blank postcard placed at the bottom. This is one such picture, taken by my grandfather in 1926; Viewfinders were on the top of the camera, and you had to look down at it, the reason why so many old personal pictures are waist height views.
