Work progresses on the sea wall at Tolcarne, before the monument to lost fishermen is replaced. I think the base of the statue is made from stones removed from the old stone sea wall, which has recently been exposed. It was built around 1840, and was demolished in the 1880 storm. The shingle beach is now moving and the length of the old wall and quay is showing well enough; I am making a photographic survey, and hope, as time progresses to measure it.
