Nice one, constructed to an obviously unworkable design. Despite the roughly constructed rock bed to the initial outlet, and the pathetic double width entry point on the other side of the bridge, this will always happen if there is no wide bed on a slope, and no external drop on the beach edge. The water flow is too deep and not of the correct outlet velocity to keep itself clear; it should also be obvious that the side flow of shingle continues westward - it needs a groyne control. Crimp and Bruge s Rule applies as much to this type of work as to sewers and drains.
