Taken in the latter days of this shop in Chapel Street. No date recorded but I think it would have been in the early 1980s. Through the opening is the bakehouse shown in my second picture.

I wonder why the put BAKERIES on the awning. As far as I recall they were only ever in Chapel Street. Does anyone else recall if they had any other shops or even bakeries?
I've just spotted, (thanks to the excellent random images feature), that Di and Dennis Barnes posted a picture of this site in 1984 (in the http://picturepenzance.co.uk/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=8 Penzance 1980s album)when the bakery had already gone. I hadn't realised this was quite so long ago.
