These pages are absolutely invaluable, and I suggest that, if you are willing, that as many as is possible are placed in a separate album; the information on all of these pages answer so many questions - such as immediately as to just where Oppenheims fitted in as Furnishers. Also the maritime section answers many routes which are actually lost if the captains/master s name is unknown. Tip top stuff.
I do not read current newspapers in view of their politically motivated and media blinkered hype, as well as their facile view of trivia. However, I could cheerfully sit down and read avidly every single word on these pages. It is full of social and historic import at all levels.
What I ll do then is create albums in your directory for separate things like newspapers, family members, Penzance and so on. They ll still be under your albums but easier for members to search by topic.... is that ok?
It is also important as in that way Ludlow is given full credit for his valuable contribution to the research material available here. There is growing in the world of the internet a vast base of scans of old newspapers together with transcriptions; with one or two minor exceptions (like The Times ) they are entirely free for the use of the ordinary public - usually researching their family and more often than not a crew member on a ship, etc ... this will bring all manner of information to the hands of those that have been looking in vain.
