In case anyone thinks that these are from commercial passenger or cargo flights; these are a part of the geo-engineering project which is currently releasing aerosol spreads in the stratosphere ... the five year mission, to control the temperature of Earth's troposphere (the bit we live in and breath). The pattern is produced during the day, whilst in sunlight. What you are looking at is a very small piece of our skies; the planes are reputedly commercial and employed for this project. In view of that, I am hopeful that contracts do not go the way of land based contracts, ie cheapest gets it. And what of the controls as to what goes into the aerosols? Said to be fairly basic reflecting particles, with a possibility of experimenting with others, such as zinc....
