Taking two of my children on a small Cornish pilgrimage to Roche Rock, we took a look at Roche Parish Church. Mty daughter, then 7 or 8, suddenly spotted this slate gravestone under a lime tree by a celtic cross, which reads: 'Sacred to the Memory of Philip Knight of Hallew in this Parish, who departed this life the 12th day of January, 1858 aged 55 years.' I've achieved a longer life than him already and let's hope it lasts a bit longer yet!
