Pendeen midsummer day parade
The banner of Pendeen Church Sunday School, waiting outside the church for the parade to commence.
Nearest the camera is Chris Hill. Alongside banner is Alvin Hancock, the two little boys in shorts to his right are Roy and Lee Reeves, two holiday-makers from London. In the kilt is David Derrington. I don't recognise the other chap who appears to be giving first aid to David's pipes. I think this must be about 1967.
Is that the same Alvin who was an electrician in St.Just in the early 90 s and eventually went overseas to work? if so I knew him quite well.

Could have been; I don t know what Alvin did in later years. He lived near Pendeen church and was in the choir.

Alvin did leave the UK and now has a restaurant in Bali, called the Secret Garden. He was a mate of my brothers and I sometimes get an email from him. My children have visited him when holidaying in Bali. He remembered them when they were little and were visiting family in St Just

I knew it was something like that. I m glad he s doing OK, he got a short straw whilst over here.
