The Mount Prospect Hotel

This old postcard of the Mount Prospect Hotel dates from the early 1900s. This was rather mundanely re-named in recent years as Hotel Penzance at the top on the right of Briton's Hill. I much prefer the previous name but I suppose the modern name gives the impression of the hotel being Penzance's only hotel!
The house (built 1894) is shown on the 1908 OS but not with a dining hall. I wonder what the poly display of ice plants was for? Trevidren house in the background.

We used to live next door and my parents had their wedding reception there - it was quite a party I understand - not that I was there!

A very interesting picture. Shewing instead of showing.... A huge flag pole.... Is the dining hall still there?
