This picture shows the Cliff Hotel after a bombing raid on the town.

This gives you an idea what the poor souls had to put up with during the second world war. This site was a garage at Chyandour Cliff. Look carefully and you'll see a car in the rubble.

Amazingly enough these children posed in front of an unexploded bomb. Apparently the bomb was taken away by the bomb disposal crew (Americans) and it exploded shortly after this picture was taken killing all of the crew!
