John Edmund Ludlow (1919-2006) of 19 Penare Road in 1940 - called up in 1939 into the Dorsets - served until 1945 (ending as Staff Sergeant) - one of the original member of the 1st Airborne (before it was the 1st Airborne!) - ended up in REME
Harold William Ludlow Pool - note no e on the Pool. Story in the family was that he was a pilot and decorated in WWI. I'd love to know more - believe he was the son of the mayor at the time - George Pool

My grandmother Janet Langwill Ludlow (nee Riddell) is at the back in the hat. My uncle Christopher (1918-1999) is in the Chinese suit on far left. This is pre WWII probably mid 1930s?
