Well! what can I say things are so different. in 1885 I Levins (the shop in the centre of this picture) became Isaac Fuzzy. Later bought by JW Meek who was the the manager of the furniture shop. Later J W Meek moved to Market Place in 1914 until closed in 2008.
Taken in the 1930's The building on the left was completely destroyed when it was hit by a bomb in World War 2. A replacement was built and owned by the Co-op and now its better known as Kettles Corner. Picture supplied by J W Meek
Taken in 1860 this picture of the Green Market shows one of the few water chutes situated at the end of the building. This water chute was fed from the Causeway Head reservoir. There were only a couple of these chutes and none of the houses had running water like today.
