A director and senior manager from the company that owned a Cornwall hotel where a fire led to the deaths of three guests, have appeared in court.
The Penhallow Hotel in Newquay burnt down in August 2007.
Nicola Burfitt, group administrative manager from Holdsworth Hotels Group, director John McMillan, and the company, each face fire safety charges.
They were remanded on bail by Bodmin magistrates to 26 January for committal to Truro Crown Court.
They face charges of failing to carry out a sufficient fire risk assessment and failing to ensure there was an adequate fire detection and alarm system.
A fourth defendant, Martin Tricker, who was the hotel group's fire safety consultant, faces a single fire safety charge.
He was excused attendance due to illness.
Peter Hughes, 43, his mother, Monica, 86, and Joan Harper, 80, all from Staffordshire, died as a result of the fire at the 54-bedroom hotel on 18 August 2007.
