Treeve's comment about the choice of cards reminded me, has the release mechanism ever worked since you've had the camera? It "shouldn't" be, but is there a possiblity of incompatability?
it was okay when I first brought it (as in had no problems) but the more I think about it now...brain ticking away... it has got worse the more I have used the camera. Also when I have gone from my faithfull point and click camera I used the card from that to put into the Nikon, remember when Steff took apart my point and click camera as my card got broke..well this card was used in my nikon,(not now as its broken) so I brought a replacement card from Curry's in MJS and the same happened to this card it got broken,so I'm thinking maybe there has always been a problem/fault with this Nikon camera from day one, but because I am a novice and not used to DSLR'S (although I am quickly getting there) I didnt use the camera as much as I am using it now if that makes sense.
