View attachment 160Investigations are continuing into the suspicious death of a woman in a fire in Bodmin. Police can confirm that the body discovered in the house at Vivian Road, in Bodmin is that of missing person Corby Craze.
HM Coroner has opened and adjourned an Inquest into the circumstances surrounding her death. Corby's family have issued the following statement in tribute to Corby: "Corby was a very special person who had two children that she loved very much. She was proud to be their mother and she was a loving daughter and sister. We cannot believe that she has been taken from us and in such horrible circumstances.
Corby worked at an old people’s home and she was an excellent carer. She had a lovely relationship with the ladies she looked after. She used to say ‘she loved them to bits’.
Corby enjoyed shopping and particularly like buying shoes. She loved going on holiday where it was hot.
Corby was a good person who got on with everybody she met. She was a happy person who enjoyed going out with friends and having fun. We are all going to miss her very much and we are finding it hard to accept that we will not be seeing her again.
We are grateful to everybody who has sent us their best wishes. We would ask if anybody has any information that would help the Police to find who started the fire that killed Corby to come forward.’
In relation to the investigation, the two men and woman arrested yesterday remain in custody. Police are appealing for information in relation to the blue Vauxhall Corsa Arizona care registered number M723MLJ, owned by Corby Craze.
The vehicle had two small white flower stickers on or near the petrol cap and a novelty sticker on the rear stating ‘my motor is mucking fagic’
In particular, police are appealing for sightings of the vehicle between 2.00pm on Friday 13th August when it was parked on the driveway at Vivian Road, and 3.40am on Saturday 14th August, when it was discovered alight in Hillside Court, in Bodmin. Anyone who saw this vehicle between these times is asked to contact the Police on 08452 777444 quoting police reference 200 140810.
