Looking for all the world like a demolition derby, the harbour car park, dominated by two monsters (the last gasometer and the new Tesco building); one has gone, hopefully the other will eventually be hidden. We had been asked to design a development for this site into flats (luxury and domestic), garages to alleviate the effect of the car on the landscape, and major shops like Marks and Spencer. Financial backing fell through and so did commercial support.
