Many thanks for this great pic, dbr.... I don t know if you ve seen them already but if you find trepolpen on page two of the User Album index, and then look on page 3 of my albums, you will find a whole gamut of pics taken by my brother of THE GREAT ASH WEDNESDAY STORM OF MARCH, 1962 . There is a similar photo among these but when it was not so dark maybe and perhaps just a tiny bit less severe even.
The photo was taken at the height of the storm by a Mr E C Ford from Madron, I saw your photos and thought I would add this one.I can remember my geography class, Bob Quixley was the teacher, being taken to the bottom of Morrab Road at the height of the storm to see coastal erosion in action After the storm I can remember helping my father Sid Courtenay to clear the cellars of Cornish Stone,owned by the Shipman brothers, located where the Antique shops are at the end of the Queens Hotel ,I dont suppose now that people realise that there was a flight of steps down to cellars below the Queens and that there was a bar in them.
