Tolcarne Seafront c1880

Tolcarne seafront wall; I believe this photograph is around 1880. In the distance is Batten's wharf and the white building is the blockhouse, part of the battery. Just in line with the seafront wall is the chimney of the Bodilly mill at Wherrytown. Bodilly's town warehouse was in Bread Street, now a wine shop.
This is close by the river, behind the building which is now the car sales shop, but yes, the wall continued along the sea edge of the Tolcarne Inn.
